This week’s inspiration image is taking a while. It’s an allium taken by me at Mottesfont last year. If you’ve never been it’s well worth a trip. It’s one of my favourite places, with changing exhibitions, gardens that are beautiful all year, and stunning walks in the landscape. We often take our knitting and just chill.
I’m making 80 buttons to cover an 80cm ball, stitching them on with green thread, and eventually it’ll be mounted on a green spike for display. But it’s been a busy week creatively and then a wonderful family catch up last night means I’m only about halfway through. I’ll post a finished piece when it’s done.
Next week’s image is below.
As always send me anything you make inspired by my inspiration images and I’ll enter you into this month’s draw to win some textile goodies.
I really MUST take a visit to Mottesfont! Just love the Dorset Button allium 🥰. I’ve been inspired by allium in my weaving before - they are just beautiful onions!
So that's what all the tiny buttons were for! I agree it's such a clever idea and can't wait to see the finished piece! x
I'm loving your button allium, Jen! What a clever idea - it's already amazing, and will be even more so when it's finished. Can't wait to see it!
