We're in Scotland visiting family and we've managed to get a day fairy hunting! This involves a walk out of Aberfoyle and up Doon Hill, famous for fairies. Robert Kirk, a Calvinist minister and folklorist in the 17c died on the hill after writing The Secret Commonwealth, a treatise on fairy folklore, witchcraft, ghosts, and second sight.
No fairies spotted, but some eerie and beautiful views, and a selection of fairy houses. What struck me was the greenness of everything!
Aberfoyle has a very interesting graveyard and disused chapel, with Robert Kirk's grave at the rear. And I managed to see a snow capped mountain, which always makes me happy 😃.
